Constituencies in Belize represent the second and final level of administrative division in the country's governance structure. Belize is divided into 31 constituencies, each of which elects a single representative to the House of Representatives through direct popular vote. These electoral districts serve primarily as the framework for democratic representation rather than as units of local administration. While the six districts of Belize handle most administrative functions and service delivery, constituencies determine political representation at the national level. Each constituency's elected Area Representative advocates for local interests in the national legislature and often assists constituents in accessing government services. The boundaries of these constituencies are periodically reviewed to account for population changes and ensure relatively balanced representation across the country.
